Kick off Boxing Day in style with a spectacular cruise on Sydney Harbour aboard the elegant Sydney Sundancer, offering front-row seats to the world-famous start of the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

The day begins with a leisurely cruise through the sparkling harbour before we secure our prime position right on the starting line of Australia’s premier Blue Water racing event. From this exclusive vantage point, you’ll witness the tense pre-race manoeuvres as world-class yachts jostle for position just moments before the starting gun fires.

Your host, veteran yacht racer and skilled skipper John Boyce, shares his passion and insider knowledge, famously declaring: “Boxing Day is the best day of the year to be on Sydney Harbour, and the best boat to be on belongs to someone else!” With over 30 years of experience, John ensures Sydney Sundancer is perfectly placed for uninterrupted views of the action. Year after year, he secures the ultimate vantage point, guaranteeing guests an unforgettable, up-close race experience.

As the starting signal sounds, watch in awe as the yachts surge forward, their sails straining in the wind, while the spectator fleet scrambles for the best positions. You’ll feel as though you’re part of the race itself as the yachts tack for position and thunder towards the Heads. We’ll follow the fleet as far as Sydney Heads, farewelling them as they embark on their legendary journey to Hobart.

Once the race fleet disappears over the horizon, the adventure continues with a scenic harbour cruise, anchoring at a picturesque spot for a sumptuous late lunch accompanied by live music from our talented onboard guitarist and singer.

Prepare for a gourmet experience that rivals Sydney’s finest restaurants — so much so that Bon Appétit magazine requested one of Chef Lynne Boyce’s recipes for international publication. Paired with free-flowing beer, wine, champagne, and soft drinks, this is an indulgent finale to a day you’ll never forget.
